Run Coach - Boston, MA

I earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2017 and work full time as a physical therapist and trainer at the Run Rx. After spending the first several years of my career working with a neurologically affected population, I made a 180 to pursue working with runners out of my own love for the sport. I began running recreationally in college to manage stress and found fulfillment that translated out of sport into daily life, and it’s been my passion ever since. In 2018, I joined the Greater Boston Track Club and have progressively become competitive with running distances ranging from the 5k to the marathon, with a brief intermission to dapple in triathlon. My mission at MYSTRYDE Train is to use my personal and professional backgrounds to guide and support competitive runners reaching for that next big goal. I’m a firm believer in consistent training and working hard, but also never taking yourself too seriously and remembering to find the joy in your process- whatever that may look like!

Coaching Philosophy

My coaching philosophy is to be consistent, be patient, and be kind to yourself. Our world has so much outside noise (data, social media, etc. ) that sometimes we get lost in the little details and lose sight of the bigger picture. Your goal is your goal- you don’t owe anyone the work you put into that goal other than yourself. And yes, there will always be someone slower than you and faster than you, so why compare? No matter how good or bad a workout or race is, you can learn from it and grow. These lessons add up, but you have to show up to let yourself learn. Keep easy days easy and hard days hard. Keep your chin up and your gaze forward. And of course- show yourself grace and have some fun. If you’re not enjoying yourself in any capacity, what’s the point?

Why I Run

Running has helped me grow in so many different facets of life- personally and professionally. The lessons you learn in sport are priceless and long lasting in making you the best version of yourself. Through running I’ve found patience, grit, kindness, and peace with myself in many ways. Not to mention, I’ve made some pretty cool friends and found an amazing community along the way.

Favorite Race

Out of left field, I’d have to say the Philly marathon is my favorite! The course is made of perfect gentle rollers, the crowd support is amazing, and the logistics are incredibly easy for a bigger city marathon. Not to mention, the time of year is perfect. My favorite non-marathon race is definitely Ragnar’s Reach the Beach Relay. Every time I do it, I remember exactly why I fell in love with running in the first place. Highly recommend to anyone who doesn’t mind living in a van for 24+ hours with fellow stinky, unbathed runners!
